Tacoma WA. A house fire started in the basement of a single family two story home in the 1400 block of South 46th st. The fire that started in the basement broke through the floor spreading to the living room and kitchen. Thick black smoke from the fire was extremley heavy and could be seen in the dark night sky for miles. The house suffered sugnifigant damage and displaced a family of four. The entire family did evacuate safley and no injuries were reported.
Lakewood WA. 4:45 AM A small compact car lost control and crashed into The Lakewood MultiCare Urgent Care Clinic At Bridgeport and Gravley Lake Blvd this morning. Witnesses say that the car was traveling north on Bridgeport Way in excess of 100 MPH lost control, crashed through the Urgent Care Clinic and burst into flames.The driver of the car, an Airman from JBLM attempted to run away on foot but sucomed to his injuries and was apprehended by lakewood police with in minutes. The fire was extinguished quickly. There were no other reported injuries. The driver was arrested and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Olympia WA. January 1, 2012 Shortly after Midnight in downtown olympia, an SUV with two white males in it were driving the wrong direction on a one way street and had a near head on collision with an Olympia Police cruiser. The SUV led Olympia Police on a high speed chase through downtown Olympia before getting on to I-5 North bound. Washington State Patrol picked up the pursuit from there but lost the SUV shorly before entering the Nisqually Valley. In the Nisqually Valley Thurston County Sheriff spoted the SUV and gave chase at speeds reaching 123 MPH. In Pierce County, Lakewood police joined the pursuit. The SUV sped through Tacoma and Fife and exited onto SR 18 East bound where it exited the freeway at Auburn Way South. The driver of the SUV lost control on the off ramp and crashed into the Jersy Barrier. Both suspect then led police on a short foot pursuit. Two men were taken into custody in the Dennys parking lot on Auburn Way South. After all was said and done the suspects had led police through two counties and over 42 miles.
Tacoma WA. A house fire broke out in the early evening hours of New Years eve 2011. The fire broke out in a single family dwelling in the 4000 block of East I Street. Early reports indicated that there was two people injured in the fire but Tacoma Battalion Chief Scott said that two people self extricated from the home and there were no serious injuries. The cause of the fire is still undetermined but believed by Chief Scott to be started in the addict by a hot roofing torch left unattended.. The roof was currently being repaired.
Parkland WA.December 20, 2011, Squatters living in an abandoned boarded up house at South 113 Th Street and C Street were using a propane tank to keep warm. The house had no electricity, water or heat. The propane tank exploded blowing the doors and windows right off the house. Fire personnel said that they could feel the blast at their station several blocks away. By the time fire arrived the house was completely consumed with fire. The house was a total loss. There were no injuries.
Tacoma Wa. Traffic Stop Turns Ugly
A routine traffic stop turned into anything but routine tonight in Tacoma Washington. Tacoma police attempted a traffic stop at South 8th Street and South Cushman Street at approximately 7:30 PM The Suspect vehicle was occupied by two men. The driver tried to elude police but only made it one block to S 8th st and S aineswoth St where he crashed and totaled Patricia Fords Car. Mrs. Ford had just moved to Tacoma a couple of moths ago following her husbands untimely death. Her vehicle was to be used tomorrow for her first day on her new job. She does have full coverage on the car.
The driver of the suspect vehicle ran on foot and police are now searching for him. The passenger was caught at the scene and after a brief struggle he was pepper spayed and arrested. Tacoma Fire responded to the scene to treat the passenger for the pepper spray. A fully loaded 380 caliber pistol with one round in the chamber was recovered from the car. The driver is still outstanding.
